I think the new GT-R is a awesome piece of engineering, they are fast, they are cheap for how fast they are... but

they are completely souless.. they took the one thing that all GT-R's before had.. the Inline 6.. and they did make this one super fast.. but my mom could drive that car as fast as I can.. it takes no skill compared to other cars of this day and age.. ones that have no electronic gizmoes to save your ass..

also it looks like a beefed up colbalt.. and that has never sat well with me.

I agree with what you say except that Nissan fucked up with the GTR, they shouldnt be voiding peoples warranties for using launch control. And why make a car that can only use launch control a handful of times before the tranny falls out of it? Then make the customer pay $20K to get it fixed. There is actually a log entry in the owners manual for tranny replacements. Note plural.

Now for the 10' plus models they are taking launch control out of the cars. So you can say goodbye to your beloved 3.4s 0-60 and hello to mid 4 second ones. Maybe take a lesson from Porsche and beef up the tranny instead of take away a great feature...

its would take a lot more than 10g of NA mods to a miata. before it was passing vipers at the track. unless the viper driver is absolutely horrible, and the miata driver is mario andretti.

there might be an exception on a very short track, that contained no straights of any kind.
